NRTG’s Land Guardian Program (LGP) addresses the growing demand for skilled, certified guardians working in communities, industry, and non-profit organizations. This five-week (200-hour) program combines engaging instruction with applied field training, realistic case studies, and hands-on exercises to build practical skills, technical knowledge, and strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Graduates are prepared for entry-level roles such as Land Guardians, Watchmen, Environmental Monitors, Environmental Technicians, and other land management positions.

Interested in receiving your Applied Biologist Technician Certification?

Do you have experience in land conservation or stewardship?

Are you working in a Lands Department or as an Environmental Monitor?

You may qualify for priority seating in the upcoming Land Guardian Program—especially if you’re

interested in earning your Applied Biologist Technician Certification (ABTC).

The ABTC is an accelerated certification that recognizes your existing experience and may grant credit

for past training, workshops, and courses.

The NRTG Land Guardian Program is an approved pathway toward ABTC.

Even if you’ve already completed the program, NENAS can support your certification journey.
